Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying near a well-attended southern California beach suddenly began spiraling wildly, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a row of palm trees as spectators watched.
Recordings posted online capture the aircraft starting to spin over the beach then plunging towards the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palm groves and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Update
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five people were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the incident on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Details on their condition were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.

Officials indicated the helicopter was connected to an yearly “Cars N Copters” fundraising event scheduled for the following day.
